What families usually ask
Which mathematics programmes do you teach?
TurtleMaths offers one-to-one support for IB Mathematics AA HL, AA SL, AI HL and AI SL, as well as IGCSE, Additional Mathematics and MYP Mathematics.
Who teaches the lessons?
Lessons are taught by Mr. Raj, an experienced international-school mathematics educator, active IB examiner and IA moderator with more than 17 years in education.
Are lessons online?
Yes. All lessons are delivered online, allowing students to join from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America and elsewhere. Joining details are provided after booking.
How long is each lesson?
A standard one-to-one lesson lasts 60 minutes.
How much does a single lesson cost?
The standard 60-minute rates are €120 for IB Mathematics HL, €100 for IB Mathematics SL, and €80 for IGCSE or MYP Mathematics.
Can I pay and book without creating an account?
Yes. A family can pay the standard fee and book a single lesson without registering. An account is required only for prepaid packages and lesson-credit management.
Which prepaid packages are available?
The current options are 4 hours with 5% saving, 8 hours with 8% saving, 12 hours with 12% saving. Package payment is collected upfront and credit is managed through a verified family account.
Can unused package credit be refunded?
Yes. Used lessons are first charged at the programme’s standard hourly rate, which removes the package discount. The original payment transaction charge and a 5% platform fee on the gross unused balance are then deducted, and the remainder is refunded.
How does the first-session guarantee work?
An eligible new family may request cancellation within 72 hours after the first diagnostic lesson and before booking lesson two. The first lesson is charged at 50% of the standard hourly rate, then the original payment transaction charge and a 5% platform fee on the gross unused balance are deducted.
Who qualifies as a first-time family?
The guarantee is available once per verified family. Previous package purchases or guest bookings associated with the family account email or phone number make the family ineligible for another first-session guarantee.
When are lessons available?
Regular availability is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 17:00 to 19:00, plus Saturday from 09:30 to 11:30 and 16:00 to 19:00. Thursday and Sunday are closed.
Which timezone does the calendar use?
Availability is maintained in Europe/Zurich time, which follows Central European summer and winter time automatically. The booking calendar converts slots to the family’s local timezone.
How are payments processed?
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. TurtleMaths does not collect card details directly on the website.
Can Mr. Raj help with an IB Mathematics IA?
Yes. Support can cover topic selection, mathematical depth, structure, interpretation and criterion-focused feedback while preserving the student’s own work and academic integrity.
